A couple of benefits for cancer charities mark the weekend music calendar:

* The Little River Band headlines this year's Stars Guitars, a benefit for the Charles A. Main MD Pediatric Cancer Survivor Scholarship Fund at Beaumont Hospitals and the Pediatric Oncology Late Effects Clinic at Beaumont Children's Hospital. The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn. In addition to the concert there will be a strolling dinner and live and silent auctions, with signed items -- mostly guitars -- from the Rolling Stones, Steve Vai, Van Halen, the Zac Brown Band, Marooon5, One Direction, Lady Antebellum the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Tickets are $75 general admission, $125 for preferred patron seats. Visit www.starsguitars.org or call 248-551-9887.

* Chromophobia along with Jon Liebman, Marty Liebman and Mike Friedman will perform at the Kids Kicking Cancer concert, taking place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Hillel Day School, 32200 Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills. Tickets are $8 for children, $10 for adults. Proceeds go to Kids KIcking Cancer, an organization that helps child cancer patients manage their disease through martial arts. Call 248-851-3220 or visit www.powerpeacepurpose.com.
