Kid Rock is getting back to his musical roots on his new album.
Rock announced on Monday, Sept. 24, that he'll release Rebel Soul," his ninth studio album, on Nov. 19. A first single, "Let's Ride," is due to be released to radio "imminently," according to the announcement.
"Rebel Soul" is said to be "a return to form for Rock who with this album cements his place as the premiere genre-hopping rock and roller of all time." "Rebel Soul" follows 2010's platinum "Born Free."
Rock recorded the new album earlier this year at his studio and rehearsal facilities in Clarkston. Just before starting, Rock said the new material sounded like "kind of a greatest hits type of thing -- with new songs. There's poignant songs like 'Born Free,' some very fun stuff like 'Devil Without a Cause,' there's a few heavy things, there's a very, very dark ballad...We're going to set up and try to pound these songs out live and try to do it very organic like ('Born Free') -- actually even more organic. I'm really excited."
Rock will provide updates on the album's release and promotion, as well as tour dates, at his www.KidRock.com web site.
