The Farmington branch of the School of Rock will trot its students on stage at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, to play a special show at the Uptown Grille, 3100 E. West Maple Road, Commerce Township.

The concert will showcase songs by Detroit-area artists, mostly classics by the MC5, Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, the Romantics, Kid Rock, the Stooges, the White Stripes, Sponge and others but also selections from the Electric Six and the Gore Gore Girls.

Besides showcasing the work that's being done at the school, the show will also be a fundraiser for the Detroit Music Awards Foundation via tickets ($10 at the door for those 19 and over) and raffle items. Call 248-960-3344 or visit www.uptowngrille.com.
