Homegrown Happenings: Xhedo's Benefit, 60 Second Crush Release and more

* Performers from around the metro Detroit area are gathering to take part in a three-day Rent Party benefit for Xhedos, the Ferndale coffee house and listening room, which is two months’ behind and facing eviction from its landlord. The event, which runs today through Sunday, will feature performances by more than 50 artists, including

Jill Jack, Jo Serrapere, Ben Cyllus, Louis Resto, Eliza Neals, Matt Smith and Mike Dorn.

An auction will feature items such as paintings, drawings, photographs, sound gear and furniture. The show runs 6 p.m.-midnight today and noon-midnight Saturday and Sunday. * Detroit headbangers 60 Second Crush will celebrate the release of their new album, “Street Corner of Fear,” tonight at the Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Ave., Detroit. * Veteran Detroit rockers The Go fete the release of “You Go Bangin’ On”/“Maribel,” the fi rst single from their upcoming album “Howl on the Haunted Beat You Ride” (due next month), tonight at the Lager House, 1254 Michigan Ave., Detroit. * A number of the area’s top country bands — including the Forbes Broth ers, Shotgun Willie, Stay Tuned, Dr. Fine and the Counter Culture — come together Sunday in a benefit for health care expenses for Lois Leasure and her daughter Dorothy Grinnell, both of Pontiac. The show runs from 2-9 p.m. at Boomer’s Roadhouse, 6650 Highland Road, Waterford Township. Admission is free, but donations will be taken at the door.
