The boys of summer -- that would be the Beach Boys -- will be returning to the DTE Energy Music Theater in June, this time with a more interesting cast in tow.
Founding members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and David Marks, along with longtime member Bruce Johnston, will celebrate the group's 50th anniversary on June 30 at DTE. Tickets, priced $69.50 and $35 pavilion and $25 lawn with a $60 lawn four-pack, go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 25, at the Palace of Auburn Hills box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.palacenet.com.
The group has been talking about a 50th anniversary reunion since June of 2010 and formally announced in December of 2011. The quintet recently performed its hit "Good Vibrations" on the 54th Annual Grammy Awards and is reportedly four songs into a new album, although no release date has been set.
