Rod Stewart will have a Platinum Ticket to hang alongside his platinum albums after he visits The Palace of Auburn Hills this week.
Stewart will receive the venue’s ninth Platinum Ticket award, commemorating significant concert success at the arena. Stewart has sold out 10 shows in The Palace’s 18-year history and played to more than 230,000 fans, placing him at No. 7 on the all-time list. He’s also one of only five acts to play four or more shows at The Palace during the same tour, in 1991-92; the others are Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel and New Kids on the Block.
Stewart will receive his Platinum Ticket on Tuesday (Jan. 23)before his Palace concert. He joins a roster of recipients that also includes Seger, Paul McCartney, Kid Rock, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and Barenaked Ladies.
