The Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day halftime show will have a Canadian flavor this year.
Multiplatinum Vancouver-based rockers Nickelback are slated to perform at the half of the Lions' annual holiday game, this year against interdivision rival the Green Bay Packers. It's not know what Nickelback will perform, but the group will be promoting a new album, "Here and Now," which comes out Nov. 21.
The quartet has released two simultaneous singles from the album: "Bottoms Up" is currently in the Top 5 of the Billboard Rock Songs chart; while the socially conscious "We All Stand Together" is a Top 15 Adult Contemporary hit.
Nickelback has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide since its 1996 recording debut and is also the second top-selling foreign act in the U.S. -- behind only the Beatles -- with more than 21 million albums sold.
Previous halftime acts have been Kid Rock, Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty and Mariah Carey.
