As he prepares to hit the road for a second time this year, Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band have announced a Nov. 21 release date for "Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets," a two-disc set that features 26 tracks from throughout his career.

Besides enduring hits such as the title track, "Old Time Rock and Roll," "Night Moves" and the original mono version of "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man," "Ultimate Hits" also includes Seger's recently released cover of Little Richards "Hey Hey Hey Hey (Back to Birmingham)" and the version of Tom Waits' "Downtown Train" that he released in February, which was supposed to be part of a new studio album Seger has been recording. "Little Drummer Boy" hails from the 1987 "A Very Special Christmas" album benefiting Special Olympics, while the live "Travelin' Man"/"Beautiful Loser" medley is taken from 1975's "LIve Bullet."

The album's cover photo was taken during the "Like a Rock" video shoot in 1986.

It's the fourth compilation of Seger's career, following 1994's "Greatest Hits" -- a perennial best-seller -- 2003's "Greatest Hits 2" and 2009's "Early Seger Vol. 1."

"Ultimate Hits" comes while Seger continues to work on the studio album, although he's put that aside as he and the Silver Bullet Band -- with new lead guitarist Kenny Greenberg -- rehearse for an eight-week tour that kicks off Nov. 2 at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center in Ypsilanti, the only Michigan show currently on the itinerary, and wraps Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.

Seger, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, was recently nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame class of 2012.

The full track listing for "Ultimate Hits" includes:

Disc 1 -- "Old Time Rock and Roll," "Hollywood Nights," "Night Moves," "Mainstreet," "Roll Me Away," "Turn the Page," "Her Strut," "Still the Same," "You'll Accom'ny Me," "We've Got Tonight," "Like a Rock," "Fire Lake," "Tryin' to Live My Life Without You"

Disc 2 -- "Rock and Roll Never Forgets," "Against the Wind," "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man," "The Fire Down Below," "Travelin' Man"/"Beautiful Loser" (live), "Shakedown," "Shame on the Moon," "Katmandu," "Little Drummer Boy," "Wait For Me," "Hey Hey Hey Hey (Going Back to Birmingham)," "Downtown Train"
