Country station WYCD-FM's afternoon drive-time team got some good new on Monday, Oct. 17 -- from a home town hero, no less.

Kid Rock telephoned Chuck Edwards and Linda Lee, who are on the air from 3-7 p.m. weekdays, to inform them they'd been named the Major Marked Broadcast Personalities of the Year by the Country Music Association after Taylor Swift announced the award in Nashville.

The Ferndale-based WYCD was also named Major Market Radio Station of the Year.

The station and Edwards & Lee will be recognized during the 45th Annual CMA Awards, which will be telecast live from Nashville at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 on ABC.

The winners were selected from a list of five finalists and voted on by CMA radio personalities and executives.
