The Detroit Tigers are pulling out some heavy hitters to perform the National Anthem before its home games during the American League Championship Series against the Texas Rangers.
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is slated to do the honors on Tuesday night, Oct. 11. Alto Reed, the saxophonist from Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band, is on tap for Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12, and Motown legends the Four Tops will sing on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 13, if a fifth game is necessary.
The home teams choose the anthem singers and other entertainment for the league championship series. Major League Baseball controls those decisions for the World Series.
