— Rock legend Mitch Ryder brings a hometown flavor to this week’s edition of Rockin’ on the Riverfront, playing the free series on Friday, Aug. 5, with Leon Russell on the GM Riverfront Stage on the south side of the GM Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. — The Majestic center in Detroit’s Cultural Center area will host a pair of special benefits this weekend. The Matrix Theatre Company will be the beneficiary of Frog Masquerade, a New Orleans-themed night on Friday at the Magic Stick Lounge, 4120 Woodward Ave. All attendees are asked to bring masks, though they’ll also be provided for those who don’t have them. Music will be provided by Zachariah Griffin, the Petal Shop, Bride Stripped Bare and others, and there will be juggling, tarot card readings and fortune telling. The party starts at 9 p.m. Admission is $5. On Saturday, April 6, Telegraph, Suburban Delinquents and more will play at A Benefit For Megan Stieg and Brain Tumor Research at the Majestic Theatre, 4140 Woodward Ave. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of show. — Michigan favorites Chrome Folk BBQ and singer-songwriter-guitarist Dave Boutette will present a spirited summer’s evening of music at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Trinity House Theatre, 38840 W.
