Paul McCartney has made it official.
The former Beatle's On The Run Tour will come to Detroit on July 24 at Comerica Park. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at the Comerica Park box office, www.olympiaentertainment.com and www.Tickets.com. Prices are $19.50, $39.50, $59.50, $99.50, $125 and $250.
In addition to his pair of shows at New York's Yankee Stadium on July 15-16, McCartney also announced a July 31 stop at Chicago's Wrigley Field and an Aug. 4 concert at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Target Field at Minneapolis is reportedly slated for Sept. 1, and concerts in Memphis, Seattle and Portland, Ore., have also been rumored.
It will be McCartney's first Detroit area show since he played in October of 2005 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. It will be his first stop in Detroit proper since the 1976 Wings Over America tour played two May concerts at Olympia Arena, and McCartney's first Michigan stadium show since his New World Tour played June 4, 1993 at the Pontiac Silverdome.
On Tuesday, June 14, McCartney is releasing new, deluxe editions of his 1970 solo debut "McCartney" and his 1980 album "McCartney II.
