Eminem's next recording project will reunite him with an old friend -- fellow Detroit rapper Royce da 5'9".

The two MCs will release an EP on June 14 under the moniker Bad Meets Evil, named after a song they collaborated on for Eminem's 1999 major label debut "The Slim Shady LP" and a subsequent 12-inch single. The two were on the outs during much of the OOs but patched up their differences following the 2006 shooting death of DeShaun "Proof" Holton, a mutual friend and collaborator. Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers) recently signed Royce's group Slaughterhouse to his Shady Records label, which will also release the "Bad Meets Evil" EP.

In a statement, Eminem said that, "Royce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio. At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started coming together crazy, so here we are." Royce (Ryan Montgomery) added, "I'm excited to see this project come to fruition considering the long lapse in time between when we worked before and now. We had a blast doing it, and we just hope everyone enjoys it while we're working on the 'Monster' that will be the Slaughterhouse album."

Denaun Porter, Eminem's D12 bandmate and onstage hype man, was the "Bad Meets Evil" EP's primary producer, though the duo also collaborated with Havoc of Mobb Deep, DJ Khalil and Bangladesh, among others.

"Bad Meets Evil" will be Eminem's first release since the Grammy Award-winning "Recovery" in 2010. Royce also plans a new solo album, "Success is Certain" for release this summer along with the Slaughterhouse set, which is in progress.
