Bob Seger has bowed to the inevitable -- a need for more than one concert in the Detroit area.
Seger and his Silver Bullet Band will now put tickets for two shows at the Palace of Auburn Hills, with a May 17 date joining the already announced May 19 concert, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26. Ticket prices have not yet been announced. And it's likely demand will ultimately lead to even more than these two concerts.
Seger and company begin their spring tour on Friday, March 25, in Toledo, and the Detroit stand will finish the trek. He recently released a new recording, his version of Tom Waits' "Downtown Train," that will be part of a new album Seger plans to complete after the tour wraps.
Local singer-songwriter Stewart Francke will open the first Seger show in Toledo. Francke is preparing for the May 17 release of his first new album in nine years, "Heartless World," which features Bruce Springsteen on the song “Summer Soldier (Holler If Ya Hear Me).”
