Fox Sports Detroit is once again seeking local musicians to submit theme song ideas for its annual “April in the D” campaign.
The network is looking for original tracks no longer than three minutes and 30 seconds, with a theme focusing on sports and Detroit’s professional teams. A video of the act performing the song should be sent to Fox Sports Detroit, 26555 Evergreen Road, Ste. 90, Southfield, MI, 48076 and postmarked by Jan. 30. All band members must be Michigan residents and at least 18 years old.
A panel of judges will narrow the field down to 10 semifinalists, with public voting determining three finalists and a grand prize winner. The latter will be announced April 1 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The winner receives $5,000, while all three finalists get a $1,000 recording session.
More details and official rules for the contest are available at www.Foxsportsdetroit.com.
Grand Rapids’ Good Luck Joes won the inaugural “April in the D” contest in 2009, while Detroit’s Victorious Secrets was last year’s top vote-getter.
