Judy Collins, Academy Award winners the Swell Season, the Avett Brothers and Citizen Cope will headline this year's 34th Ann Arbor Folk Festival, taking place Jan. 28-29 at Hill Auditorium on the U-M campus.
The event is the primary fundraiser each year for the Ann Arbor music club the Ark.
The Avetts and a solo performance by Citizen Cope will top the bill on Jan. 28, with Vienna Teng and the Spring Standards also on the bill. The Swell Season -- the duo of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova who starred in the 2007 film "Once" and won the Oscar for Best Original Song -- will close the show on Jan. 29, with folk veteran Collins, Eilen Jewell and the trio Red Horse (Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka and Lucy Kaplansky) also performing.
Susan Werner will emcee both nights.
Ark members can purchase tickets exclusively through Nov. 1, while a student pre-sale takes place between Nov. 15-20. Gold and Platinum Circle tickets go on sale to the public Nov. 1, and the general sale begins Dec. 1. General public tickets are $0 and $47.50 per night, $58 and $85 for both.
