* Luder, the Octopus, Man Incorporated and Marco Polio & the New Vaccines will perform at a launch party on Friday, Oct. 1, for the U.S. publication of “MC5: Sonically Speaking” by British-born writer Brett Callwood, who now calls Detroit home. Callwood originally published the book in 2007 in the U.K. and revised it for its recent release by Wayne State University Press. Rogers, who’s married to Detroiter Tony Rogers, is a blues singer struggling with complications from liver disease, which forced her to cancel a tour supporting her latest album, “In the Fire.” Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $5. Call 248-858-9508 or visit www.atcallahans.com.
