John Fogerty Signs On For Thanksgiving Halftime Shows
His hit "Centerfield" celebrates baseball, but John Fogerty will be all about football on Thanksgiving Day. The former Creedence Clearwater Revival leader has confirmed that he and his band will play a pigskin doubleheader that day, performing at halftime of the Lions-Miami Dolphin game at Detroit's Ford Field and then flying to Kansas City for the Chiefs-Denver Broncos contest that night. Fogerty was not the NFL's first choice for the games, however; the two-fer was originally pitched to Detroit's own Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, but negotiations broke down over production issues. The Lions game will be broadcast on CBS at noon, while the Chiefs-Broncos game begins at 9 p.m. on the NFL Network. Fogerty recently released a CD companion to his latest live DVD, "The Long Road Home."
