* There will be no TasteFest or CityFest this year, but Detroit’s New Center Park will still host a Fourth of July weekend filled with local music. The Dennis Coffey Quartet, the Danny Kroha Band and the Wrong Number are among those performing from 4 p.m.-midnight on Friday, June 2. The Beggars, Spitting Nickels and a Punk Rock Fitness regimen are part of the 11 a.m.-midnight lineup on Saturday, July 3. Silverghost, Alberta Adams and Johr are on the docket for Sunday, July 4 (noon-10 p.m.), while Thornetta Davis, Duende and Modernlull are among the performers slated for Monday, July 5 (noon-10 p.m.). The low-key festival is designed as a kick-off for the New Center Park’s summer programming, which will include Wednesday Movie Nights, Thursday Happy Hour Jazz & Blues, Friday Rock in the Park, Saturday Kid Stuff Galore during the day and Camp Hi-Fi at night, and a Sunday Harvest Market featuring folk music. * Kid Rock’s DJ and hypeman Paradime teams with occasional Eminem collaborator The Alchemist for a holiday weekend throwdown at 10 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Flat 151 in the Murphy-Telegraph Building at 151 W. * A pair of Detroit singer-songwriters, Michael Bermudez and Frankie D'Angelo, will perform at Cocktails For a Cause, a benefit for Detroit's COTS (Coalition on Temporary Shelter) from 6-11 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Goodnight Gracie Jazz & Martini Bar, 224 S.
