* Detroit’s Campus Martius Park kicks off its summer 4th Fridays in the Park on Friday, June 25, with an all-day lineup showcasing winners of the 2010 Detroit Music Awards. Blues guitarist and bandleader Johnnie Bassett will headline the Lunchtime Arts show at 11:30 a.m., while Detroit Techno Militia will play a happy hour set at 4 p.m. that also will include a Detroit trivia contest. Starting at 6 p.m., the Brothers Groove, Thornetta Davis, Jill Jack and the Howling Diablos will play a Detroit Music Awards Jam Fest, and the night finishes with a “Best of Show” screening of two shorts — “Forever in Time” and “First Day” — from the Detroit/Windsor International Film Festival. * The Palmer Woods Music in Homes series will present a weekend of concerts as part of its Jazz in the Woods Fest. The Spencer Barefield Trio will be the house band at all three shows, include Rayse Biggs’ Tribute to Trumpet Masters at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 25, a performance by David McMurray (Kem, Was (Not Was), Kid Rock) at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 26, and by saxophonist Wendell Harrison at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27. * The prog-minded rock troupe Squid The Whale rolls out its new album, “A Worrisome Voyage,” on Saturday, June 26, in the Pike Room at The Crofoot, 1 S. Saginaw St., Pontiac. Rocky Loves Emily, the Guilt Engine, Accidents and the Boys of Summer also will perform. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of show.
