Detroit’s DJ Digital 1, also known as Todd Carrick of Commerce Township, is headed to New York City to take part in the final “spinoff” of the Smirnoff Vodka “Shaken and Stirred” James Bond DJ contest Wednesday (Nov. 8th). Carrick will compete against DJs from Cincinnati and Washington, D.C., with the winner receiving a VIP trip to Las Vegas and additional prizes, including DJ equipment. Among the music the DJs submitted to the competition was a remix of the James Bond theme. Carrick has been a DJ in the metro area for 18 years and also hosted a weekly radio show while attending Western Michigan University. The contest is part of the promotion for the upcoming remake of the Bond fi lm “Casino Royale,” which opens Nov. 17.
