It's not a summer in the Detroit metro area without a Kid Rock concert.
Now it's official summer.
After selling out two nights at Comerica Park last July, the Clarkston-based rocker and his Twisted Brown Trucker band return to Oakland County for a pair of shows on Aug. 13-14 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 28; prices and other details will be announced early next week.
Rock played four shows during his last stop at DTE, in 2008. There's no word yet on additional concerts this year, though DTE does have open nights both before and after the announced shows.
The DTE concerts are part of a handful of shows Rock will play this summer. He's opening 11 shows for Bon Jovi in North America and the U.K. and will also play at the Calgary Stampede, the WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota.
Rock is currently finishing work on the follow-up to 2007's "Rock N Roll Jesus," which is due out in September. He also duets with Uncle Kracker on the latter's latest single, "Good to Be Me."
