Detroit's Movement Electronic Music Festival has added 33 more performers as well as a new fifth stage to its Memorial Day weekend lineup.
Among the additions are Chilean-German DJ Ricardo Villalobos, who last performed in Detroit at the 2002 Paxahau Electronic Music Festival at the now-closed Panacea nightclub. Also on the bill will be live sets from the German duo Booka Shade, Ghostland Observatory, Gabe Real and Ian Desmond, Niko Marks, the Moritz Von Oswald Trio, dOP and the trio of Jimmy Edgar, John Ryan and Ian Clark. They'll be joined by DZ featuring Toophaced, Excision, Jeff Risk, Jenny Lafemme, Patrice Scott, Shigeto and Sinistarr with MC Teddy & Bombscare.
Movement's Italian sister festival, Movement Torino, will sponsor the fifth stage, which will host another 15 artists during the festival including Detroit techno pioneer Derrick May and DJs Marco Carola, Mauro Picotto, Torpez and I-Robots. The Torino stage will also feature live sets by Motel Connection and Orlando Voorn.
The new announcements bring Movement's performance roster to a total of 97 acts, which will perform May 29-31 at Hart Plaza. Weekend passes are currently available for $55 at www.movement.us. Children under 12 will be admitted free throughout the weekend.
