The DVD of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” documentary will roll out with a bang in Royal Oak — and for a good cause.
The Blockbuster location at 27942 Woodward Ave. will hold a release-night party from 9 p.m.-midnight on Monday (Jan. 25), including a performance by Michael Jackson impersonator Tony Davis, a moonwalk contest (first prize is a Bluray player with a copy of “This Is It”), prize drawings every half-hour and retro Jackson buttons for the first 75 fans at the bash. The video itself will go on sale at midnight.
The party will also double as a glove drive for St. Vincent de Paul; anyone bringing a pair of new or “gently used” gloves — with or without Jackson’s trademark rhinestones — will receive a coupon for a free rental from the store.
