It’s been 19 years since “The Jacksons: An American Dream” was a hit miniseries for ABC. Now, the musical family is returning to TV again, and the “Dream” has turned to reality.
“The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty” debuts at 9 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 13) on A&E, kicking off a six-hour reality series that started filming last January with plans of reuniting the Jackson 5 for their 40th anniversary. The series chronicles plans to record a new album and tour — with Michael Jackson in tow — and goes through Michael’s shocking death in June and the aftermath.
The episodes will include interviews with Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon Jackson as well as some behind-the-scenes drama — including Jackie erasing a Jermaine vocal that he deems not worthy of keeping.
Sunday’s kick-off will include back-toback episodes. There have been conflicting reports about whether Michael’s three children will appear in the show, and no definitive answer has been offered yet.
