Eminem has moved up his plans to perform a special release week concert in Detroit for his new album, "Relapse."
The Oakland Township-based rapper will perform on the day of the album's official release, Tuesday (May 19) -- instead of the previously planned Friday (May 22) -- at Sound Board inside of Detroit's Motor City Casino. Portions of the performance will be used for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" appearances that night and possibly for Friday.
Tickets are being distributed in a variety of ways. Record Time, 27360 Gratiot Ave. in Roseville, will have some tickets to give away beginning at 5 p.m. Monday (May 18). MySpace Music (www.myspace.com/music) is also holding a ticket lottery, and a previous posting on Eminem's official web site, www.eminem.com, directs fans to enter for a chance to win tickets at Hot Topic locations around southern Michigan and Toledo.
Some radio stations will also be giving away tickets for the event.
DJ Jazzy Jeff will also perform at Tuesday's show. Security surrounding the casino and hotel will be heavy to insure that only ticketholders will be able to get in proximity of the venue.
