After selling out Comerica Park in just 27 minutes, Kid Rock has added a second home town stadium show in July.
Tickets for Rock's July 18 concert at the home of the Detroit Tigers will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 9. Single ticket prices are $69.50, $46.50 and $30, and a six-pack of upper deck seats is available for $99.
Seattle rockers Alice in Chains and the rap group Cypress Hill will open the second concert; Lynyrd Skynyrd and Robert Randolph & the Family Band will support rock at the sold-out July 17 show.
In addition to the concerts, there will also be festival-style activities outside the stadium, including a chili cook-off, a car show and a second stage where winners of a local Battle of the Bands competition will perform.
Rock is currently working on a new album, the follow-up to 2007's "Rock 'n' Roll Jesus," that he plans to release this fall. A new single may be out in time for the Comerica Park shows, however.
