Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Kevin Costner To Throw Down At Hoedown
Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Rodney Atkins and actor Kevin Costner will be among the headliners at this year's 27th annual 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown -- which is being produced for the first time by Auburn Hills-based Palace Sports & Entertainment.
The three-day event, which is acknowledged as the largest free country music festival in the world, will take place May 15-17 at Detroit's Hart Plaza. Last year's Hoedown drew about 700,000, and previous editions have drawn up to 1.4 million.
This year's Hoedown lineup features more than 20 national recording artists and more than 50 acts overall. Also among the headliners are Phil Vassar, Luke Bryan, Josh Gracin, Darryl Worley, the Zac Brown Band, Stephen Cochran, Jessica Harp of the Wreckers and Trailer Choir. Costner will be performing with his band, Modern West, supporting his 2008 album "Untold Truths."
Local country artists on this year's Hoedown lineup include Justine Blazer, Redhill, the Orbitsuns, the Forbes Brothers, the Wrenfields, Doop & the Inside Outlaws and local TV anchors Devin Scillian and Stephen Clark.
