Detroit rapper Eminem continues his return to active duty with Tuesday's (April 7) release of the video for "We Made You," the latest single from his next album, "Relapse," which comes out May 19.
Declaring "Guess who?! Did you miss me?," the clip answers the song's rhetorical question, "Can he come back as nasty as he can? Yes he can...Don't ask me that again." Eminem (real name Mashall Mathers III) wickedly spoofs "Star Trek," Poison singer Bret Michael's VH1 reality series "Rock of Love," Amy Winehouse and her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil, Britney Spears, Sarah Palin, Jessica Alba, Ellen DeGeneres, Elvis Presley's video for "Jailhouse Rock" and Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
The clip also features cameos by fellow rap icons Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.
The video is airing on all of MTV's networks and can be seen on web sites such as www.mtv.com and www.nme.com.
Eminem was in Cleveland on Saturday to induct Run-D.M.C. in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's not yet known if he plans to tour to support "Relapse," which he recorded mostly in the Detroit area, but he's reportedly set to drop another album, "Relapse 2," in the fall. "Relapse" is Eminem's first set of new material since 2004's "Encore" and follows a rough patch where he dealt with a sleeping pill addiction in 2005 and the August 2006 shooting death of Proof (Deshaun Holton), his best friend and longtime musical cohort.
Eminem is also expected to take a starring role in the 2010 action film "Have Gun -- Will Travel" to follow his well-received performance in 2002's "8 Mile."
