Officials at the Palace of Auburn Hills have scheduled a press conference for a "major concert announcement" on Thursday (Jan. 15) -- which appears to be a May 21 stop on Billy Joel and Elton John's Face To Face Tour.

The two Rock and Roll Hall of Famers began performing together in 1994. They played at the Pontiac Silverdome that year and last brought their duo show to town on May 2-3, 2003 at the Palace. During the concerts the two play their own sets and also duet on each other's hits, interchanging members of their bands.

John announced this year's edition of the Face To Face Tour during a fall appearance on ABC's "The View." The trek kicks off March 2 in Jacksonville, Fla., and is slated to last, on and off, for two years. Ticket prices there range from $49.50-$175. Ticket details for the May show at the Palace are expected to be announced at Thursday's press conference.
