Ferndale’s Magic Bag is the place to be for local groups releasing new albums this weekend. Mellotrön rolls out its “Mellotrön: And Go” Friday (Nov. 14), with Radar Pilot, Grand Circus and Science Fair also on the bill. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7. On Sunday (Nov. 16), Matthew Parmenter celebrates “Horror Express” by playing two sets — one solo and one with his band, Discipline — while his brother Ryan Parmenter also plays. Award-winning Detroit funk artist Nadir Distorted Soul unveils his new album, “Working For the Man,” with a performance at 9 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 15) at the Jazz Cafe in the Music Hall Center, 350 Madison Ave., Detroit. Admission is
