There will be a scary amount of rock ’n’ roll music at the Halloween Havoc VI, which takes place at 3 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 25) at the Crofoot Ballroom, 1 S. Saginaw St., Pontiac. Bands on the bill include Mansfield Park, Black Rose, Counter Culture, Kambridge, Humans In Vehicles, Second Theory and Electric Park, as well as visitors Kandid Theory from New York. The Detroit prog-rock group Tiles brings its virtuosity to the east side Friday (Oct. 24), headlining a show at 9 p.m. at the Ritz, 24300 Hoover Road, Warren. Matthew Parmenter, the Pilz and 50 Cent HeadRush also are on the bill. Tickets are $5 and $8 for those aged 18-20.

In-studio performances by KT Tunstall, Sara Bareilles, Bruce Cockburn, Steve Earle, Brian Vander Ark and others are featured on the new CD “Live from Studio A2,” a project by Ann Arbor’s WKQL (107.1-FM). The CD went on sale this week and is available at Borders Books and Music stores in Farmington Hills, Novi, Canton, Brighton and Ann Arbor. Proceeds from the CD benefit the Michigan Theater Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the operation and preservation of the historic Ann Arbor movie and live performance venue.
