New Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Madonna will return to her home town for the first time in more than seven years on Nov. 18, when she brings her Sticky & Sweet Tour to Detroit's Ford Field.

The show marks the Bay City-born, Pontiac- and Rochester-raised pop icon's first stop in the metro area since August 25-26 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The second show was broadcast live on HBO. She skipped the area on her 2004 and 2006 tours.

According to Farmington Hills-based concert promoter Live Nation, details about ticket sales will be announced next week.

The Rochester Adams High School graduate revealed she planned to play Detroit again while at the Traverse City Film Festival over the weekend, where she premiered "I Am Because We Are," a documentary about orphans in Malawi.

The tour is promoting Madonna's latest album, "Hard Candy," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts when it was released in April. In March she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during ceremonies in New York City.
