Local blues favorites Harmonica Shah, Lester Hambone, Jam Samich, 2007 Blues Music Challenge winners

the Front Street Blues Band and the Mike Espy Band, and 2008 Blues Music Award winner Watermelon Slim & the Workers will perform at the 4th Annual Hot Blues & BBQ show, from noon-midnight Saturday (June 21) in the Village of Oxford’s Scriptor Park. The event will start with a preliminary of the 2008 Detroit Blues Challenge, with four acts — Muledrive, the Carl Caballero Band, the Paul Miles Band and Reverend Robert Sexton’s Allstar Blues Revue — taking part in the competition. Blair, FunTouchables, Mike “Agent X” Clark, Josh Dahlberg and milieu will perform Friday (June 20) at a fundraiser for Detroit’s 31st Dally in the Alley, taking place at 8 p.m. at the Cass Cafe, 4620 Cass Ave., Detroit. Proceeds raised at the show will go to the North Cass Community Union and to this year’s Dally program, which is scheduled for Sept. 6. Tonight’s event will also include a display of this year’s official Dally artwork. Admission is free; donations will be taken throughout the show. Scott Morgan’s Ann Arbor rock troupe Powertrane will be joined by Deniz Tek, an Ann Arbor native, from Australia’s Radio Birdman at a special show Saturday (June 21) at the Elbow Room, 6 S.
