Sponge and Taproot are among the more than 20 local bands that will perform at Saturday’s (May 10) Loft Fest, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Tim and Andy Patalan’s Loft Recording Studios in Saline. Also on the bill will be Speedball, the Motor Dolls, Solid Frog, the Unheard, Spiral Crush and the Bob Guiney Band. A DVD is being filmed of the show, which takes place at the Crofoot, 1 S. Still enjoying their 15 minutes from TV’s “The Next Great American Band,” the Detroit rock trio the Muggs release their anxiously awaited second album with a show Friday (May 9) at the Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Ave., Ferndale. Students from the recently opened Rochester branch of the Paul Green School of Rock Music will perform Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” in its entirety twice this weekend in the Pike Room at the Crofoot, 1 S. Saginaw St., Pontiac. The young troupe will perform at 6 p.m. Friday (May 9) and at the same time Sunday (May 11). Tickets are $10 for each performance. The Detroit art rock duo Adult. will premiere “Decampment,” its experimental silent horror movie, at 7 and 8:30 p.m. Friday (May 9) at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Friday Night Live! program. The group shot the film entirely in the Detroit area with local actors and will perform the musical soundtrack live at the screenings. The DIA is located at 5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit.
