The 17th Annual Detroit Music Awards take place at 7 p.m. Friday (April 25) at The Fillmore Detroit, 2115 Woodward Ave., Detroit. American Mars, Crud, Doop & the Inside Outlaws featuring Ty Stone, the Scott Gwinell Jazz Orchestra featuring Jesse Palter and Joan Crawford, Wil Louchi, the Muggs, Nadir Distorted Soul and Luis Resto will perform. MC Serch hosts. Distinguished Achievement Awards will be presented to the Roostertail, the Ark’s Dave Siglin and Uncle Jessie White, with Jeff Grand leading an all-star tribute to White. A collective of local singer-songwriters will take the stage Friday (April 25) for the Trinity House Theatre Benefit Concert to raise funds for the acoustic music showroom in Livonia. Matt Watroba, Annie and Rod Capps, Claudia Schmidt, Jim Bizer Jason Dennie and Beucoup Blue are all slated to perform. The show starts at 8 p.m. at the Trinity Church, 24500 Six Mile Road, Livonia.
