Seger returns with new 'Promise'

» See more SOUND CHECK

Bob Seger has confirmed a September 12 release for "Face the Promise," his first new studio album in 11 years. The first single, "Wait For Me," will be released in early July, while the set will also include a duet with Kid Rock on country star Vince Gill's "Real Mean Bottle," which was written as a tribute to Merle Haggard. Seger produced the album and has been working on the album in Detroit and Nashville with longtime engineer David Cole. No firm decision has been made on a tour to support the album, but Seger has voiced a desire to consider it -- perhaps even getting a version of the Silver Bullet Band together for rehearsals before commiting to dates. He last toured in 1996, supporting the previous year's "It's a Mystery."
