Detroit rock favorites the Muggs and Zug Island are among the headliners at this year’s Rock 4 The Goal Concert Series, a two-night affair that raises money for Red Wings forward Darren McCarty’s McCarty Cancer Foundation. The Muggs top Friday's (April 4) bill, which also includes the Dirty Americans, Dirt Road Logic and Van Go Go. Saturday’s (April 5) show also includes Ray Street Park, the Unheard and Primortal. Doors open at 8 p.m. each night at Augie’s, 31660 John R., Madison Heights. Admission is $10 each night. For information visit www.cancerfoundation.org.

Ann Arbor piano great Mark “Mr. B.” Braun holds his annual Blues & Boogie Celebration at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (April 4-5) at The Ark, 316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor. Local rockers Brother Ash will kick off a new Saturday night live music series with a free acoustic set in the lounge upstairs at Small Plates restaurant, 310 S. Main St., Royal Oak. The Motor City Music Foundation will hold its 7th Annual Acoustic Showcase to benefit the Detroit Music Awards at 8 p.m. Thursday (April 10) at Memphis Smoke, 100 S. Main St., Royal Oak. Jill Jack will host the evening, which includes performances by the Wrenfields, Jo Seraparre, Stacia Petrie, Nadir, Billy Brandt, Carolyn Striho, David Nefesh and Michael On Fire.
