Electronic Fest Announces More Acts

Movement ‘08: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival has announced additional performers for this year’s Memorial Day Weekend show, which runs May 24-26 at Hart Plaza.

Festival organizers Paxahau have announced a new Red Bull Music Academy Stage, which will replace the old Pyramid Stage and feature sets by Newcleus, the Cool Kids, Egyptian Lover, Shawn Michaels, James Zabiela, Benny Benassi, Girl Talk, Justin Kruse, Tech Itch, Dieselboy and DATABASS featuring Godfather. Previously announced performers include a Moby DJ set, Konrad Black, Minx, Terrence Parker, Alton Miller, Alex Under, Dubfire and original festival Artistic Director Carl Craig.

Paxahau is also touting improved sound for this year’s Movement as well as “weather structures” for patrons.

More performers will be announced soon. Discount pre-sale tickets — $40 for a weekend pass and $150 for VIP passes — are currently being offered at www.myspace.com/ detroitmusicfest.
