Trilogy

The members: The Trilogy band is Gary Michels on drums; Tim Adkins on keyboards; Terry Stafford on bass; Lloyd Slaven on keys, guitars and trombone; Dennis Gabbeart on guitar and saxophone; and John Liddell on saxophone and flute. All member contribute vocals to the project as well.

The history: Formed as a three-piece group in 1986, the band has gone through many changes in personnel and style. At this juncture, the band refers to itself as a virtual jukebox, specializing in covers from Motown and classic rock as well as original material. Trilogy is certainly a busy outfit, playing between 80 and 95 shows per year.

What's up with the name: The group’s moniker was adopted because originally the band was formed as a trio.

The style: The sextet covers a variety of songs, from ’50s and ’60s sing-alongs to the music of today. The unique aspect of Trilogy is that it features several lead voices that can pull off three, four and five part harmonies. When combined with the horn section, the group describes its output as having a wall of sound effect.

Got anything recorded? Trilogy recently recorded and released “Three,” its debut CD. It is available for $10 through the group’s official Web site at www.trilogy-band.com and can also be purchased at the band’s shows.

Tell us your future? With career highlights including headling at VH1’s “Save the Music” concert and three summer tours, the group is now booking for its fourth straight outing this June. The group will continue to play shows and promote the “Three” album.
