Brothers. The bond of blood is thick, and there is a palatable chemistry between brothers who make music together. This is the case with Citizen Zero. The Dudley brothers - Matt, Greg and John - were raised playing music in a family that valued and encouraged the arts. Each brother soon chose his individual path: Matt - Guitar, Greg - Bass, and John - Drums. They excelled at their chosen craft, building a powerful foundation for Citizen Zero. In a small town like Rochester, Michigan, good news travels quickly. When word got out that the talented Dudley brothers were forming a new project and looking for a lead singer, Josh Mayle, long-time musician/songwriter and fan of the Dudleys, jumped at the opportunity. Mayle's childhood also revolved around music. In both families, the art of music had been passed down through multiple generations. From the time they could walk, music was just as much a part of their lives as breathing. With the match finally made between Mayle and the Dudleys - Citizen Zero was born! Although relatively young (John is 17, Greg 20, Matt and Josh are in their early twenties) - Citizen Zero's music displays a skill level and sophistication well beyond their years. And fans have been noticing. With their debut EP - produced by Kid Rock Engineer Al Sutton - starting to burn up the internet airwaves, listeners have been feverishly responding to "Destroy Me Beautifully," and "When the Rain Comes," the first two singles from the disc. "Destroy Me Beautifully is about the girl who turns your entire world upside down - leading you to believe in one thing...and then forcing you to question everything. It's about exposing every ounce of who you are to someone, only to be cast aside for reasons unknown," explains Mayle. Citizen Zero creates thoughtful & meaningful modern rock. Their songs sound like instant classics without being dated. It's music that sounds relevant but is never trendy. And most importantly, Citizen Zero rocks. Detroit Rock Blog heralds Citizen Zero as "Detroit's next great hard rock hope", with songs that "will stick in your head like your ex's phone number from the first listen." This past summer, Citizen Zero performed at almost every major music festival in Metro Detroit - including a coveted slot at Arts, Beats and Eats, Mount Clemens' Stars and Stripes Festival, and Port Huron's Blue Water Festival. Audiences fed off the electrifying connection between the Dudley brothers and the commanding stage presence of lead singer Mayle. Consequently, word is starting to spread that Citizen Zero is a not to be missed live act. With a music video in the works - and a return to the studio planned to lay down new tracks - Citizen Zero is poised to be a household name to the rock-loving masses!
